I received a degree in Environmental Science and Regional Planning from WSU Vancouver in 1996 and have been active in environmental activities since 1994. I worked as an educator at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Clark County and WSU Extension. In 2007 I was asked by the City of Vancouver to start a watershed council to mobilize the community to protect and enhance the natural environment. I have served on a variety of committees to plan projects, update code and develop policy. I currently serve on the Ridgefield Planning Commission.

I have lived in Clark County for 13 years and have been an active community member working on local agricultural, environmental and community issues. Joining the Vancouver Watershed Alliance team was a natural fit. Alongside working for the Council I work for Clark County managing the 78th St. Community Gardens.

I am the Vancouver Watersheds Alliance’s AmeriCorps member for 2011-2012. I am originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and later went on to receive my bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. I graduated in 2009, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences with a concentration in biology and society and two minors in Spanish and political science. For the last two years I have been back in Indiana working with an environmental consulting firm in their microbiology lab as an analyst. I moved to Vancouver in September to work as the program coordinator for the Vancouver Watersheds Alliance, planning events and managing volunteers. I am eager to learn about Vancouver and its natural environment, as well as addressing the needs of the community with regards to its efforts to be more sustainable.
